On the Professional Front
How did I get here?

Having qualified as a Chartered Accountant, I began to specialise in tax in 1980. I have been working on non-compliance matters ever since, in a variety of national and local firms. I am also a member of both the Chartered Institute of Taxation and Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.

In August 2004, Peter and I set up John Jepps LLP.

Why I like my work:Every day has a different challenge.
What I don’t like in business:“Jobsworths”!
Key piece of advice to others:

Work at something you enjoy.

Best business moment:Making something scary go away.
and the worst...Deathbed “planning”.
If I weren't a tax consultant:I rather fancy I’d be a lawyer, computer programmer - or skier.
Extra-curricular activities
What I do to keep fit:

Gym, Skiing – and taking my blood pressure tablets!

In my other life:

I’m a servant to my three children (aren’t we all?) but do manage to occasionally fit in some reading, photography and foreign travel. I’m also a part-time student – subjects depend on how the mood takes me.

Some Fun Stuff
Favourite Holiday Destination:A high Ski resort.
Where i'd rather be:The Three Valleys in France. With clear blue skies, lots of snow - and no mobile phone reception! Alternatively, you might find me in the “Cheers” bar.
I wish I could:Play the piano or clarinet.
Superpower I'd like to have:Teleportation.
My Personal Hero:Ford Prefect. You have to respect a man who always knows where his towel is.
I'd like an audience with:                                        Leonardo De Vinci, a true polymath.
…and on the professional front:Adam Smith, whose influence is perhaps growing still.
